hawaii

I say it every time we go, but I just love Hawaii! We had a wonderful time & are so grateful that we get to vacation there so often. This trip we also went to Maui instead of just the Big Island. Unfortunately, it was kinda rainy and poor Sami got a cold! It was so sad to hear her cough so much and not be able to breath well out of her nose because she was so stuffy :( but she got better quickly and she was a trooper on this trip! On the first leg of the trip Sami screamed for about 20 mins until she finally fell asleep (we had to get up pretty early and she was up wayyy too long before finally getting a chance to sleep), and I was dreading out 6 hour flight over to Honolulu. But luckily she slept great and was happy after getting a good nap in! 

We got into Honolulu and stayed with our friends the Hansens! We love having other people to visit when we go! They are so nice and their girls were so sweet with Sami. They also went over to Maui with us and we had a good time playing some games after the kids went to bed. 

We then flew over to the Big Island and it felt like coming home. Seriously, I love it there. Not that it's every crowded at Christmas when we are usually there, but it was deserted this time! It was so nice to have the whole family there, too! Alex & Thomas flew over from LA for 5 days and I was so happy to see them. 

Our days in Hawaii are filled with early morning walks, eating yummy food, going to the beach for a little bit, and then hanging out at night. Sami loved the pools & the sand but did NOT like the waves (mabye too splashy?). She did better with the time change than I thought she would but for some reason would wake up screaming and ate a TON at night, where as at home she was only eating once. Luckily when we got back home she went back to just eating once. We are so excited to show Sami the world, and what a great place to start, in Hawaii! Can't wait to get back!
