time flies when you're having fun

we have lived in el paso for 3 months now and we are loving it! the weather is great, we have found some yummy places to eat, and our ward is really nice. isaac is enjoying being a brigade dentist (read: he goes to work at 9am and is home either by lunch time or a few hours after) and i am enjoying my time with sami. both isaac & i have applied for our texas dental and dental hygiene licenses so that he can moonlight and i can start work soon! i didn't know if i would want to work after having a baby, but i have been getting excited about working a few days a week. we have a girl who will nanny for us during the week so i can work and on my days off can run errands, get things done around the house, etc. it will be hard to leave sami during the day, but i know she is in good hands! and plus, mommy needs to continue to develop her talents and have time for herself!

 we had a wonderful, simple christmas! we made a yummy breakfast and opened the presents that our family sent us. it was our first christmas as a family of 3 and i loved it!

sami is doing great! she is so happy all the time (except when she has to go down for naps..she just loves to be awake) and is growing so much. i weighed her the other day and she is almost 15 lbs and as of a few weeks ago, completely outgrew all of her 3 month, and 3-6 month clothes. she is in 6 or 6-9 month clothes! she doesn't eat very well, but her growth keeps me comforted in knowing she is getting enough. she became disinterested in breastfeeding and started only taking a bottle of breastmilk, so i pumped for awhile. but, for various reasons, i stopped pumping and she is now on formula. it wasn't an easy decision, but it has made life so much better for all 3 of us. it is so nice to be able to have daddy feed her, especially at night!! i get more rest, i am happier, and we are all happier.



2014 is shaping up to be a great year! my parents are here right now, we leave for hawaii in a few weeks, isaac is going on the Thomas family man trip to BC, canada, in august, and then we are hiking the inca trail again in november! we are hoping to get up to oklahoma for sami's first birthday to share that with our sebourn family.
